It’s not too late to spend your summer in Rome! The 2017 Communication in Rome study abroad summer program has everything from cuisine to culture. There is something for everyone to love, learn and explore in Italy.
But don’t wait! The deadline to apply is Feb. 15, 2017. Earn up to six Communication Studies credits in only five weeks between July 2 to Aug. 6, 2017.
Two courses are offered. Cross cultural scholar Dr. Julia Khrebtan-Horhager teaches SPCM 382: Bridging Cultures: Italy-USA and film and media studies scholar Dr. Carl Burgchardt teaches SPCM 482: Cinematic Rome.
Classes meet Monday through Thursday, leaving three day weekends for more sightseeing. Excursions to other parts of Italy, including Florence and Tuscany are also a part of the experience. The experiential learning from this trip is invaluable.
“Study abroad in Rome gives you so many opportunities to live and experience new culture, to create lifetime memories and friendships,” said Communication Studies major L’amour Johnson, who attended the program last summer. “You get to explore some amazing places, but you also get to live life there.”
