Join us on Wednesday, November 16th, 6 to 7:30pm, for this month’s NoCo Scoop Discussion at the Old Town Library.

Part of our Center for Public Deliberation’s (CPD’s) Deliberative Journalism Project, we will be discussing local journalism and reacting to interesting insights from the Colorado Media Project’s latest survey of Coloradoans’ views on local and state media.

RSVP through the library here.

You can look over the Colorado Media Project report here. We will pull some specific insights and questions from the report to engage at the meeting. The CPD is also developing a “Reimagining Local Journalism” discussion guide that participants will receive and get a chance to respond to and sign up for a dedicated discussion forum using that document in the spring. You can see the guide at the link above, and provide feedback.

Event Details

Curious about local happenings, community dynamics, and the day to day occurrences that affect our lives? The Deliberative Journalism Project is proud to present the Scoop! Each month, the community is invited to “take the pulse” of the northern Colorado community by discussing local news pieces, the sentiments around particular issues, and enjoy guest visits by local leaders, journalists, and community influencers. These adventurous public discussions aim to showcase different viewpoints to keep our community in touch with the diverse backgrounds, positions, and opinions that make us great.

This program is presented in partnership with the Fort Collins Coloradoan, the CSU Department of Journalism, the CSU Center for Deliberation, Fort Collins Public Media, and Poudre Libraries.
