Hello! I'm Joan Schueller, and I'm a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Colorado State University in the Communication Studies Department. I teach SPCM 333: Career Communication and SPCM 200: Public Speaking. My research looks at how interpersonal relationships form the basis of our social reality. I particularly look at the use of metacommunication in friendship, relational maintenance, and social support. My other areas of interest include nonverbal communication, communication technology and AI, communicative construction of identity, and mixed methods research. In my free time, I enjoy doing Jiu-Jitsu, calligraphy, and hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park.
