The Academic Job Market Colloquium for Communication Studies graduate students this fall is Monday, October 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Walnut Room 110. This particular colloquium is most pertinent for our doctoral students, though MA students who would like to learn more about the academic job market are also welcome.
The Colloquium
The first 45 minutes will consist of a general Q&A about the job market. Then all students except 3rd and 4th year students will be dismissed. The 4th year students will rotate among our faculty mentors who each will represent a different type of institution/role (e.g., research intensive, small liberal arts, comprehensive university/community college, department chair). Our 3rd year students will be able to shadow these students to learn about types of questions and hear faculty feedback.
The faculty mentors for this event are Drs. Katie Knobloch, Julia Khrebtan-Hoerhager, Greg Dickinson, and Elizabeth Williams.
