All undergraduate students in Communication Studies are invited to attend our fall alumni panel!

On Thursday, October 20 from 12:30-1:45 p.m. in the Lory Student Center, Room 300, Dr. Denise Caleb (’94, President at Human Resources Standards Institute SM), Jake Gunn-Sandell (’15, Director at SPMB Executive Search), and Rob Klein (’02, Realtor) will speak about their careers and professional experience since graduating from CSU. They will also be available to answer student questions.

About the panelists

Professional headshot of Denise CalebDr. Denise Caleb graduated from CSU in 1994 with a B.A. in Speech Communication, then went on to earn her M.Ed. in Education and Human Resource Studies at CSU. She also holds a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership and a Professional in Human Resources® (PHR®) certification. Dr. Caleb provides HRSISM’s roadmap for strategic expansion and progressive growth. Previously, she spent more than 25 years in human resources, business development, partnerships, and marketing executive leadership roles at employers such as Ford Motor Credit, Walgreens, and the University of Kansas Health System. For the past 15 years, she has led diversity and inclusion initiatives supporting the development of strategic processes for various industries. As a military spouse, she experienced 13 moves and 8 deployments that enriched her global perspective and exposure to diverse cultures and locations.

Professional headshot of Jake Gunn-SandellJake Gunn-Sandell graduated from CSU in 2015 with a B.A. in Communication Studies, and holds a certificate in Negotiation Mastery from Harvard Business School Online. At SPMB, a top executive search firm, Gunn-Sandell leads searches to find quality talent for a variety of early to late stage, venture capital, private equity, and publicly traded tech companies. Gunn-Sandell is passionate about recruiting and thrives when connecting people and companies. He uses his diverse background and experience to customize each search, and has a diverse portfolio of completed searches within many types of software companies. He is an active member within the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) group at SPMB, and carries a Certified Diversity and Inclusion Recruiter certification. Gunn-Sandell strongly believes that all companies should work towards human equality. In his downtime, he loves to play handball, snowshoe, cheer on the Nuggets, and watch the latest Disney movies.

Professional headshot of Rob KleinRob Klein graduated from CSU in 2002 with a B.A. in Speech Communication, but he first started at CSU in 1980 when he was only three years old. Rob attended the speech therapy program at the Educational department on campus to assist him with speech development challenges along with a few other learning challenges. Since graduating in 2002, Rob has taken on several roles for his career, from being a part of “mom and pop shops,” large corporations, and nonprofit organizations, to roles as an educator and an entrepreneur. Today Rob is a self-employed realtor here in Fort Collins.
