About the Panelists
Amy Madden (B.A., ’94)
Owner and CEO, Raven Idea Company
Amy is a CSU Speech/Communications graduate from the late 90s who focused her attention while here on marketing, persuasion, rhetoric and communications in the creative space. Since her time here, Amy has owned three marketing agencies, served as Director of Marketing for multiple organizations, helped launch dozens of women-owned businesses, founded networking communities, planned hundreds of events, led nonprofit initiatives, managed creative teams, and spent decades helping businesses get noticed. Most recently, Amy owned eSQUARED events (an event marketing agency) for 10 years prior to Covid-forced shutdowns and is now the owner of Raven Idea Company, a strategic agency focused on “doing marketing” a little differently now. Amy’s focus is on PEOPLE and their uniqueness as the leading marketing strategy these days – and her communication skills play a big role in getting her clients to share openly and vulnerably.
Additionally, Amy is the Co-Founder of The Honey Badger Sisterhood (look it up and see if it resonates with you, ladies) and is a musical theatre performer, volleyballer, wife and mom of a teenage daughter who will graduate from high school this May.
Evan Bode (B.A., ’20)
Independent Filmmaker and Arts Educator
Evan Bode (any pronouns) is an independent filmmaker, animator, composer, and teaching artist from Fort Collins, Colorado. Their colorful, imaginative work has screened at major film festivals across the United States and around the world.
After graduating from CSU’s Communication Studies program in 2020, Bode received his M.F.A. in Film from Syracuse University and directed 3 award-winning short films, earning a Chancellor’s Citation for Excellence in Graduate Research. Bode stayed on to teach undergraduate courses in animation, documentary, narrative fiction, and experimental film, as well as leading SU’s national Summer Pre-College Film Intensive. In 2024, he co-founded Teens with a Movie Camera, an ongoing community workshop that creates, produces, and exhibits films in collaboration with marginalized youth in Syracuse, supported by the National Endowment for the Arts.
Bode approaches filmmaking as a language of personal and political expression, often exploring topics of neurodivergence and genderqueer identity while championing inexpensive, inclusive modes of production. Presently, they are working on a series of commissioned animations for Project Mend, illustrating injustices of the prison industrial complex in collaboration with formerly incarcerated poets and essayists. In 2026, Bode’s short animated documentary Prison and Time was published in the New York Times as an NYT Op-Doc and awarded a Vimeo Staff Pick.

John Argenio (B.A. ’24 and M.A., ’26)
Outreach Coordinator, Dementia Together
John is a double alumnus of CSU’s Communication Studies department, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 2024 and his master’s degree in 2026. As an undergraduate at CSU, John participated in both the Center for Public Deliberation and the Wellness in Interpersonal Relationships and Communication (WIRC) research lab. During his time at CSU as an MA student, he taught public speaking for the department. John’s master’s thesis focused on building social connections after moving to a new place for a job. John grew up in Littleton, Colorado, and now works for Dementia Together, a local Fort Collins nonprofit, as their Outreach and Development Coordinator.
