Introducing the Center for Democracy, Art, and Popular Culture: Promoting Healthy Democracy through Cultural Engagement.

In this session, we will first present the initial results of a national survey that identifies the most popular entertainment and pop culture outlets, channels, and programs regularly consumed by adults of various ages, genders, and political affiliations. Then, we will discuss how the CDAPC is seeking faculty and student partners to develop research projects, become center affiliates, and plan events on campus and in the community that increase understanding of the connections between art, popular culture, and democratic health. This panel will be a dynamic working session designed to introduce the campus to the CDAPC and foster interdisciplinary research and engagement collaborations.
