The film screening
As part of the opening celebration of CSU’s Hatton Gallery visual art exhibition “American Roulette: An Exhibition on Gun Culture in the United States,” our ACT Human Rights Film Festival will screen The Rifleman. This 19-minute short film will be shown on the 30-minute mark from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Visual Arts F101. This meticulously assembled, all-archival footage film by director Sierra Pettengill reveals the roots of the modern National Rifle Association, U.S. Border Patrol, and the gun lobby’s unyielding influence on national politics.
The art exhibition
American Roulette, which opens in the Clara Hatton Gallery from November 10 to December 22, examines gun violence in the United States. The installation features the work of Michelle Graves, CJ Hungerman, Cesar Conde, Dominic Sansone, Anthony Guntren, Yousif Del Valle and Folleh Shar Francis Tamba.
