Biography

Emma Lynn is a current Ph.D. student in Communication Studies at Colorado State University. She has a B.A. in Media Arts Studies from Brigham Young University where she studied film production. Emma worked as the producer on student Emmy nominated short film Gather as her capstone project for her undergraduate degree. Additionally, Emma has an M.A. from Bowling Green State University in Ohio in Popular Culture Studies where she wrote her master’s thesis on feature length fan made amateur remake films. Her research topics include film, television, fandom, and representations of sexual violence in popular culture. Emma has experience teaching courses in film, public speaking, popular culture, film history, and media theory. She is currently the Communications Intern for CSU Writes. Emma has additionally participated in several service opportunities at multiple universities, having previously served as the secretary in the Popular Culture Scholars Association at Bowling Green State University. She currently serves as a representative on the Graduate Student Council at Colorado State University and participates in the screening committee for the ACT Film Festival.
