Biography

Greg Dickinson holds the William E. Morgan Endowed Professor and is the Director of the Blake Center for Engaged Humanities at Colorado State University. He is an award-winning scholar and teacher whose work advances critical and theoretical understanding of memory, place, materiality, race, gender, and everyday life. He has published in communication, cultural studies, and rhetoric journals on coffee shops, shopping malls, museums, and gentrified urban spaces. He has authored, co-authored, and co-edited five books including the forthcoming book The Haunted West: Memory and Commemoration at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West with Eric Aoki and Brian L. Ott. He is also the author of Suburban Dreams: Building and Imagining the Good Life, coauthor with Brian L. Ott of The Twitter Presidency: Donald J. Trump and the Politics of White Rage, and the co-editor with Carole Blair and Brian L. Ott of Places of Public Memory: The Rhetoric of Museums and Memorials and the Routledge Reader in Rhetorical Criticism with Brian L. Ott. His scholarship has earned numerous awards including the National Communication Association Golden Anniversary Monograph Award, the Choice Outstanding Academic Title, and the Western States Communication Association Distinguished Scholar Award. He has received the College of Liberal Arts Excellence in Teaching Award and the Colorado State University Alumni Association Best Teacher Award. He is the founding producer of the ACT Human Rights Film Festival.
