Hi there! My name is Kylie Johnson (she/her/hers), and I am originally from Omaha, NE. I received my B.A. in Communication Studies at the University of South Dakota in 2019 with minors in Psychology and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. I am a second-year Master's student in the relational and organizational emphasis, and I am loving my time here at CSU! Broadly, I am fascinated by interpersonal contexts and how we can utilize communication as a tool to create and maintain more meaningful connections with one another. More specifically, I am interested in the communication of social support. My thesis investigates support provider experiences and the challenges of support provision by examining how support providers reach a point of needing boundary creation and what communicative strategies they utilize to create boundaries in various support contexts. During my free time, I enjoy going on walks and hikes, exploring different parts of Colorado, watching ridiculous reality TV shows, and spending time with my cat Edgar.
