Julia Khrebtan-Hörhager interviewed in Colorado Sun article: “Iranian students in Colorado feel forgotten as they watch their country unraveling from afar”
On December 1, 2022, The Colorado Sun published an article on Iranian students in Colorado during this time of unprecedented levels of protests in Iran following the arrest and subsequent death of 22-year-old Iranian woman Mahsa Amini in September. Khrebtan-Hörhager and others are critical of the lack of support Iranian students have received in the wake of such turmoil in Iran:
“After Russia launched its war on Ukraine, Julia Khrebtan-Hörhager, an associate professor of communication at CSU, said she was invited to speak about the conflict on many panels. But she has not yet been approached to speak about the situation in Iran, she said.
“‘They are not wrong when they say that this has not been given the same attention,’ she said of the students.”
