On February 13, the Department of Communication Studies hosted engaging alumni panels featuring a diverse group of successful Communication Studies graduates at the Lory Student Center. Claudia Perez (’20, Public Affairs Manager at Planned Parenthood), Kale McMonagle (’11 and ’17, Collaboration Director at The Civic Canopy), and Emily Myler (’19, Neighborhood Development Liaison at City of Fort Collins), led a lively discussion in the morning followed by Amy Meredith (’22, Communications Coordinator at City of Fort Collins), Miguel Bañuelos-Garcia (’20, College Advisor at Denver Scholarship Foundation), and Jesús Calderón (’19 and ’21, Collaboration Manager at The Civic Canopy) in the afternoon.

They spoke about their careers and development since graduating CSU with Communication Studies degrees. They also answered questions from their student audience about finding jobs, setting boundaries, and succeeding in professional roles. Associate Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies Nick Marx moderated both discussions.
