Ziyu Long and Elizabeth Williams have co-authored “Telling stories, integrating theories: A semester-long case study assignment written by and for students,” which was published in Volume 35, Issue 1 of Communication Teacher.

Abstract
Courses: Organizational Communication; any advanced communication course that can benefit from using a case study approach.

Objectives: This semester-long case study assignment asks students to write a case study around an organizational communication issue based on their empirical data collection of a real organization. Students are expected to (a) engage with theory in an applied setting, (b) collect empirical data, and (c) practice writing and analytical thinking skills.
