In a recent Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) article covering the return of the popular Canadian sketch comedy show Kids in the Hall, which originally aired in the 90s, Marx explained, “The rise of social media and YouTube has made it tougher for new sketch comedians to break through and do the same cohesive half-an-hour, hour-long show that we saw folks in the nineties doing. Because that’s just not how people consume media anymore.” Marx is the author of the 2019 book Sketch Comedy: Identity, Reflexivity, and American Television.
